Quincy-based Your Electronic Warehouse was recently ranked No. 53 in the Internet Retailer’s Top 500 Guide in the computer and electronics category.
Your Electronic Warehouse has a retail store at 2828 Broadway. It appears with other companies
such as Amazon.com, Best Buy, Radio Shack and Crutchfield.
Internet Retailer’s Top 500 guide, now in its third year, ranks the top 500 Web retailers based upon 2005 online sales. The Top 500 retailers account for more than two-thirds of all online retail business.
This marks the first year that Your Electronic Warehouse has been listed.
“We were really close to being listed in last year’s guide, and are very excited to have made it into the Top 500 this year,” said Justin Meats, the businesses’ IT director. “As a small business, it has always been our goal to directly compete with some of the largest retailers in the country.”
Your Electronic Warehouse placed 53rd in its category of Computer/Electronics and No. 481 overall in the Top 500.
Meats said Your Electronic Warehouse’s Web site (4ElectronicWarehouse.com) has evolved over the past nine years from a small, information-only site to a fully functional retail site.
Meats says it caters to the do-it-your-self consumer with product lines such as Bose speakers and lifestyle systems, Yamaha receivers, Pioneer plasmas, custom made-to-order Monster Cables and whole-house audio systems from Niles and Bose.
Your Electronic Warehouse, a division of 1st in Video-Music World, was started more than 30 years ago by Quincy businessman Dennis Boudreau as a small brick and mortar consumer electronics store.
