Bose® Lifestyle® SA-3 Amplifier Specifications

  • Room selector switches assign the amplifier to a specific room and radio frequency remote control.
  • Auto-sensing auxiliary input: Allows external audio sources (a TV or DVD player, e.g.) to play through Bose speakers located in the same room, automatically.
  • Once the auto-sensing feature is activated by the user, the SA-3 amplifier automatically switches to the local source when the local source is turned on. (This can also be achieved manually by pressing the "Local" button on the Lifestyle® system remote control.)
  • Mini-DIN expansion input and output easily connects multiple Lifestyle amplifiers to the Lifestyle R media center in a daisy chain, whenever two or more pairs of speakers are desired in a specific location (for example, outdoors or in a large hall).
  • Wired Volume Control (VCA) input provides connection for an on-wall volume control (can be used with or in place of a Lifestyle radio frequency remote control).
  • Finned cast-aluminum housing dissipates heat efficiently for lower operating temperatures, even at full output.
  • Integrated mounting flanges allow for permanent mounting to walls or floor joists, if desired.
  • Bose® expansion cable allows for a single connection of the amplifier to the Lifestyle R media center or multi-room interface.
  • Dimensions: 4.25"H x 14.12"W x 5.5"D (10.7 x 36 x 13.8 cm).
  • Weight in carton: 11.1 lbs.(5.02 kg)
  • Power rating: Two-channel stereo operation, 100 watts (minimum) per channel.
  • Speaker impedance: Compatible with speakers rated 6 ohms or higher.
  • Color: Black.
  • Limited one-year transferable warranty remains with the system even if ownership passes to another person.

Product Review: Bose' SA-3 amps offer clean and concise power to your Bose Lifestyle systems. They look like standard amps, but offer some nice options in conjuction with a Lifestyle System. Be sure to install the speakers with proper polarization and make sure you secure the unit. I learned through Bose that if you make any changes to any of the 8 switches on the amp while it's plugged in, that the system will not recognize it. You must uplug the amp for 60 seconds, make your changes, and then plug it back in. Overall, it's a great addition to your main system and offers a quick and easy multi-zone audio solution. It's obvious that Bose really does spend time and money in trying to offer well thought out products to the public. Was this review helpful to you? Yes/No

Hi, is the SA-3 amplifier is multi voltage, i.e. 110V-230V? and can be used outside of the US in a 220V environment with the corresponding 220V power cord? Your response is appreciated.

I want to expand my Lifestyle 25 into Zone 2 using a speaker selection switch that allows me to send output to one or all of 9 rooms. Room speakers are 8 ohm controlled by an impedance matching volume control. Is this amp sufficient to drive this system using output for background music - not high volume sound like a home theater. I successfully used an old Technics receiver rated at 60 watts per channel to perform this same function.
