DVD PLAYERS/RECORDERS

WHAT YOU MAY NOT KNOW:

  • Today's DVD Players are able to produce high definition video by way of the Progressive Scan output with component video or HDMI cables. If your DVD Player has an HDMI connection, use it because its the best possible connection. By connecting a digital coaxial or fiber optic cable (not included) between a DVD Player and A/V receiver you can take advantage of Dolby Digital and DTS surround sound.
  • If you are not using HDMI, the next best possible connection is component video. Component Video is the only other way to utilize progressive scan video which will produce a flicker-free picture that is much smoother.
  • If HDMI or Component Video connections are not available, or you have an older TV, then S-Video is your best option. S-Video will not allow for progressive scan video fromatting but it will give you a clearer picture than composite video.
  • Use HDMI, Fiber Optic or Digital Coaxial connections between your A/V receiver and DVD player for the truest sound. These connections keep the digital signal in its best form for the receiver to process.
  • You can maximize your A/V receivers performance by plugging it into a Monster Power Center.

HDMI CONECTION TIP:

Some DVD Players/Recorders may not be able tor process HDCP encoding when connected by an HDMI Cable resulting in connection failure or loss. It may be necessary to connect using Component Video and Digital Audio outputs, depending on how your system is configured.

MONSTER RECOMMENDS:

  • Use Monster's highest performance HDMI cable for best sound and picture when hooking up HDMI enabled DVD Players.
  • If HDMI connections are not available, use Component Video or DVI cables as the next best HD option.
  • If your DVD Player is not HD compatible, consider using component video cables especially if your DVD Player has Progressive Scan.
  • Use Monster LightSpeed® fiber optic or Monster DataLink™ digital coax cables for superior Dolby Digital® and DTS® surround sound.
  • Hook-up the DVD player through a Monster PowerCenter™ for clean power and surge protection for better picture and sound.
