Best Uses: Larger Rooms, Smaller Rooms, Audiophiles, Basic Use Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
Product Review:
This product has three strengths. First, it sounds great (even at low volumes). secondly, it combines everything you do into one box (watch DVDs, listend to CDs, FM/AM radio, etc. -- replaced 3 ft. of stacked audio/visual gear with one small box with just a few cables to the speakers). Finally, it stores your CD collection easily (looking up all the info about the CD in an on-board database that is updated quarterly by Bose).
The uMusic system is pretty good at learning what type of music you do/don't like and choosing songs you'd like. But, it doesn't have a way to not play Christmas songs in the summer. Rather, it is built around what mood you are in; you have 9 "channels" for the different moods (or for teenager music vs adult music). You can select specific genre's (e.g., classical), artists, etc. and listen only to that type.

Rather, it is built around what mood you are in; you have 9 "channels" for the different moods (or for teenager music vs adult music). You can select specific genre's (e.g., classical), artists, etc. and listen only to that type.
