Product Review: I purchased these to add to my existing 5.1 set of same speakers. When I got the 5.1 set, I didn't want to spend much money, although my ears can't handle cheap speakers. I play tested a variety of choices in this price point and found these to be the best bang for the buck.

I have them hooked up to a Yamaha RX-V863.

The speakers are crisp, clear, and 'full' for their size in a room ~14'x20'. You could find a more flat and full sound from a larger, more costly speaker... but they would be.. larger.. and more costly.

Oh, they are tough too. I'm in the midst of moving, so don't have them mounted, and my 3-year-old has knocked them over (~3 ft drop to the carpet floor) a few times. Freaked me out, but they have held together nicely.

Aside from these speakers specifically: The subwoofer that came with the 5.1 set sounds good, but is a strange shape, so it is awkward to place in a living-room. I recommend you jot down the dimensions and figure out where you'll place it before ordering.

Overall, bang for the buck, I am very pleased with these speakers after 5 months of use as my main theater surround system. Was this review helpful to you? Yes/No
